Using Linux Shell


  1. Check the Linux Shell Help Pages.

  2. Apply for a UND Engineering Linux Account.

  3. Use VPN (Virtual Private Network) to connect to the UND networks.
  4. You may not need to do this if you are on campus.

  5. Log in to the Linux server undcemcs02.und.edu .

  6. Create a Shell Script such as Example.sh.

  7. Interpret the Script.
  8. For example,
       shell> /bin/sh  Example.sh    
    where the host operating system can be found by
    shell>

    shell>

    shell>




      Nurse: “Doctor, the man you just treated collapsed on the front step. What should I do?”    
      Doctor: “Turn him around so it looks like he was just arriving.”
